Reeces Rainbow - The mission of Reece's Rainbow is to rescue orphans with Down syndrome through the gift of adoption, to raise awareness for all of the children who are waiting in 25 countries around the world, and to raise funds as adoption grants that help adoptive families afford the high cost of adopting these beautiful children.

National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) - established to increase public awareness about Down syndrome; to assist families in addressing the needs of children born with this genetic condition; and to sponsor and encourage scientific research.

NDSS maintains a toll-free number (1-800-221-4602) to its professionally staffed information and referral service available to people nationwide. They provide general information about Down syndrome; referral to parent support groups as well as other local and national resources; and information on many topics related to Down syndrome. A free information packet is available for new parents.

National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) - a national advocacy organization for Down syndrome and provides leadership in all areas of concern related to persons with Down syndrome.

Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation (DSRTF) - The mission of DSRTF is to stimulate biomedical research that will accelerate the development of treatments to significantly improve cognition for individuals with Down syndrome.

Down Syndrome Research Foundation (DSRF) - The Down Syndrome Research Foundation was formed in 1995 in response to the need, expressed by parents and professionals, for detailed and research-based information for themselves and for the community at large.

The ARC - the country's largest voluntary organization committed to the welfare of all children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

San Diego, CA area resources

Down Syndrome Association of San Diego - a non-profit organization, was established in 1978 by families with a need for a support and resource network with comprehensive information on Down syndrome.  The Family Support Program is invaluable in assisting parents with unique education, healthcare and social issues.  The DSA continues to evolve and currently serves 1000 families and professionals in San Diego County.  The DSA is affiliated with the National Down Syndrome Society, the National Down Syndrome Congress and the Exceptional Family Resource Center.

DS Action - parents, grandparents, doctors, educators, registered nurses, social workers and other business professionals interested in improving the quality of life of all people with Down syndrome.

Rady Children's Down Syndrome Center - improves the consistency of care for children with DS, serves as a resource for other medical professionals, and strengthens the social network for families.

Exceptional Family Resource Center - provides support, information and education for families of children with disabilities and the professionals who assist these families. By offering emotional support and factual information, the Center enables families to help their children reach their fullest potential.
